Spiaggia di Capo Coda Cavallo
offers spectacular views over the Protected Area of Tavolara Punto Coda Cavallo. There is paid parking and a very tiny beach bar. Bring (and take out) whatever you need for the day. The beach is narrow with a rocky band at the waterline which isn't great for littles, but the sand in the water is soft for swimming and wading.
Spiaggia Golfo Aranchi
is a narrow, but long municipal beach. Inexpensive parking is directly behind the beach with accessible ramps to the sand as well as a walkway behind it. The bay is well protected with few waves and gently sloping sands. Facing west, there are spectacular sunset opportunities. Spiaggia Rena Bianca
has beautiful, soft and off-white sand. Drop-offs are possible or use the tuk-tuk service. The parking isn't cheap, but well-managed and attended throughout the day. There is a very nice beach bar and restaurant, but the prices reflect the location. Spiaggia Baja Sardinia
is beautiful, crystal-clear waters and soft sand. But it was the most crowded of all the beaches we visited. Parking is a challenge and the clientele (and prices) are decidedly up-scale. Spiaggia di Cannigione
is another municipal beach backed by a walking path and bike lane. Cannigione is one of the most laid back we visited with ample parking, restaurants, and bars nearby. This beach is great for families with soft sand and easy access and a playground. Paisa Spiaggia Manenna
has several parking lots and plenty of free roadside parking with several gently sloping access lanes - the further south allows for drop-offs and a boarded path to the beach. The water is very clear and free of seaweed. However, sand is the texture of grits - it doesn't stick to everything, but is a little rough for tender feet. Spiaggia di Porto Pollo was hands down our favorite and a haven for windsurfers. The sand is very soft and devoid of seaweed. The color of the water is spectacular. There are multiple paid parking lots and access points, two of which are accessible. Rupi's Beach Bar is excellent - good selection, tasty, and reasonably priced.
